Asset and Force Protection

Force Protection is a hot topic in today’s world with news of insurgent attacks on service personnel, news of another shipping vessel being taken by pirates, or warnings of attacks on civil populations by terrorists.

At 3FS we are working to support a whole range of Asset and Force Protection activities through the provision of sensing equipment and intelligence gathering. People working in high risk environments need to understand that environment if they are to achieve their aims, be that getting their ship into port without incident, preventing a terrorist attack, or successfully completing a patrol.

To achieve their goals commanders need Individual and Shared Understanding of their environment. This may be achieved through a number of mechanisms; use of sensors, intelligence gathering, information sharing, cultural understanding, general and specialist training. 3FS is working to provide solutions that support all these mechanisms.

3FS is developing a suite of Sensing and Data Fusion solutions which will aid the ability of organisations to detect, interpret and act to mitigate against potential threats. We are currently applying our knowledge and technologies to aid organisations working in the following areas;

• Military Force Protection and Intelligence Gathering;
• Counter Terrorism;
• Counter Piracy.

Spectrum Monitoring

Our approach to the problems of Spectrum Monitoring are unique and make heavy use of Commercial Off the Shelf components to drive down the cost of Spectrum Monitoring.

Our Spectrum Monitoring systems are able to detect events in the "RF Environment" that are indicative of actions being carried out within the “Operational Environment”. Detection of these actions can be used to aid the development and maintenance of Situational Awareness.

Our programme of work for Spectrum Monitoring is targeted at both the Defence and Commercial Markets in area such as;

• Anti-Piracy;
• Policing of the RF Spectrum;
• Force Protection;
• Intelligence Gathering.
